The Journey Through
Tuesday of Holy Week | April 15
Theme: What He Walked Through⌠and What We Walk Through Now
âJesus entered the temple courts, and while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. âBy what authority are you doing these things?â they asked. âAnd who gave you this authority?ââ
âMatthew 21:23 (NIV)
⨠Reflection and Insight
Tuesday was full.
Not with miraclesâ
but with questions,
confrontations,
watchful eyes.
Jesus spent the day in the temple, teaching truth while the religious leaders tried to trap Him with it.
They werenât there to learn. They were there to find fault.
To dissect. To discredit.
And yetâHe taught anyway.
He taught in the tension.
Under scrutiny.
With their judgment hanging in the air like incense gone stale.
And stillâHe spoke.
His voice didnât shake.
His clarity didnât shrink.
Because when your truth is rooted in who sent you, not who surrounds you,
you donât have to proveâyou just proceed.
đĽ The Everyday Parallel
Have you ever felt like people were waiting for you to fail?
Like your every word was being measured, not to understandâbut to tear it apart?
Have you had to show up in a room where you knew someone was watching but not with love?
This is Tuesdayâs lesson:
Speak anyway.
There will always be people who question your worth, your wisdom, your calling.
But the real question is: Do you know who gave you the authority to stand there?
Jesus didnât defend Himself with rage.
He taught with rootedness.
He answered questions with questions.
And He let the truth do what it doesâreveal.
đ Personal Reflection
Sometimes I feel like I have to explain everythingâŚ
My journey. My joy. My voice. My calling.
Like I have to earn my place in rooms Iâve already been graced to enter.
But this Holy Tuesday reminds meâyou donât have to defend your light. Just let it shine.
You donât have to win the debate.
You just have to remain devoted to the truth within you.
đđž Invitation for Reflection
Where in your life are you being called to teach, speak, or leadâeven in tension?
Can you stay rooted in whatâs true⌠even when people question your presence?
This isnât about shouting.
Itâs about standing still and speaking steady.
This Tuesday, may you remember:
Your authority isnât up for debate.
You are sent.
You are seen.
And even in tensionâyou are still teaching.
