A delicate flower blooming through cracked pavement, symbolizing unexpected beauty and joy rising from brokenness.
Even here, in the cracked and forgotten places, I bloomed.
Beauty does not ask for permission—it rises anyway. 🌸

Thursday, April 10, 2025 — Petals in the Rubble

Week’s Theme (April 7-11, 2025): The Bloom from Brokenness

I didn’t expect to laugh again.
Not here. Not now.
But joy peeked through the rubble—
A bloom rising where no flower should.

Words of Light

“To provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning…”
—Isaiah 61:3a (NIV)

Reflection

After loss, the world can feel muted.
Colors dull. Joy far off.
Everything that once brought ease now feels… foreign.

But healing has a rhythm of its own.
One day, without warning, something breaks through:
A moment of peace. A gentle laugh.
A softness that returns to your chest like a breath you didn’t know you were holding.

That is grace. That is your bloom.

It doesn’t always arrive with fanfare.
Sometimes it looks like doing laundry without crying.
Or noticing the light fall just right on your kitchen counter.
Or reaching for hope again—even in hesitation.

These are your petals in the rubble.
Small signs of beauty rising through the aftermath.
They are proof that something in you refused to stay buried under the weight of what was.

You are finding life again.
Not in spite of what broke—but in harmony with it.
This is not forgetting. This is growing with memory.
This is resurrection in motion.

What joy—or moment of peace—has surprised you lately?
Where are the small petals peeking through your own rubble?

Affirmation

I welcome the bloom in unexpected places.
I honor joy when it returns, even in whispers.
Beauty is rising in me again.

Peace,
Rita
