A young man in a winter coat helps an elderly woman carry her groceries during a gentle snowfall on a warmly lit street, symbolizing compassion and small acts of kindness.
Small acts of kindness, like helping someone in need, carry profound light and hope. Even the simplest gestures can brighten the darkest days.

Week of December 16th: Finding Light in Each Other

Day 3 (Wednesday, December 18): Small Acts of Kindness

Words of Light:

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Reflection:

Advent reminds us of the quiet, humble ways light enters the world. Jesus was born not in a grand palace but in a simple manger. The shepherds who came to see Him were ordinary people, yet their visit brought great joy and spread the news of His birth. These small, unassuming acts teach us that even the simplest gestures of kindness can make a profound difference.

A smile, a kind word, or an act of generosity may seem minor to you, but to someone else, it could be the light they desperately need. Kindness doesn’t require grand gestures—it just requires a willing heart.

Today, think about how you can be a light to someone through a small act of kindness. Remember that miracles often take root in these quiet, everyday moments.

Peace, Rita
