Love waits with open arms,
but it cannot carry you if you do not lean in.
Let it catch you.

Words of Light

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.”
— 1 John 4:16 (NIV)

Reflection

It is one thing
to know you are loved.

It is another
to trust it.

To lean into it.
To allow yourself
to be held—
not cautiously,
not partially,
but fully.

Because somewhere along the way,
many of us learned
to brace ourselves.

To prepare for disappointment.
To expect withdrawal.
To hold just enough of ourselves back
so the fall would not hurt as much.

And even when love is present—
steady, patient, available—
that instinct to brace
can remain.

But love was never meant
to be something you stand beside
and observe.

It is something
you step into.

Stepping into love’s embrace
requires a quiet release—

of control,
of guardedness,
of the belief
that love must be earned
or managed
or anticipated carefully.

It asks you to believe—
even if your voice shakes—
that goodness
is not only possible…

it is available
to you.

And as you begin to nurture yourself,
something within you softens.

You become more open.
More willing.
More able to receive
what has been present all along.

Today, you are not only invited
to know God’s love…

but to rely on it.

To rest in it.
To lean fully—
and trust
that it will hold you.

Pause and Consider...

  • In what ways have you been bracing yourself instead of embracing love?
  • Where in your life are you being invited to soften and receive?
  • What would it feel like to trust love—not cautiously, but completely?

Affirmation

I lean into love’s embrace with trust and openness.
I allow myself to receive the love that is already present for me.
