When your grip loosens,

love tightens its hold—

threading through the cracks,

holding you together

when you feel like falling apart.

Words of Light

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge…”

— Psalm 18:2 (NIV)

Reflection

There are days when everything feels like it’s slipping through your hands—your peace, your plans, your sense of self.

You try to steady it.
You try to hold it together.
You try to be strong in ways that no one else can see.

But eventually, your grip weakens.

Not because you’re incapable.
But because you were never meant to carry everything by yourself.

Love meets you in that moment.

Not after you’ve figured things out.
Not once you’ve regained control.
But right there—in the unraveling.

God’s love is not fragile. It does not withdraw when life becomes uncertain. It does not loosen its hold when yours does.

It remains.

It becomes the quiet strength beneath your weakness—the presence that steadies you when your footing feels unsure.

It is the kind of love that catches you in the freefall and does not rush you to recover.
The kind of love that gently gathers the pieces of you that feel scattered and begins, patiently, to hold them together again.

Sometimes, being held together doesn’t look like strength.

Sometimes it looks like:

  • continuing when you feel undone
  • breathing through moments that feel too heavy
  • allowing yourself to rest without having everything resolved

And sometimes, it looks like remembering that the love surrounding you is not limited to what you can see.

It is in the prayers spoken over you.
In the lives that came before you.
In the quiet resilience that still rises within you, even now.

You are not falling apart.

You are being held together in ways you may not fully understand yet.

Let yourself be held.

Not by your own effort—
but by a love that does not let go.

Pause and Consider...

  • What feels like it’s slipping through your hands right now?
  • Where can you notice even a small sense of steadiness or support?
  • What would it feel like to release the pressure to hold everything together on your own?

Affirmation

I am held together by a love that does not fail.
Even when I feel unsteady, I am supported and sustained.

Peace,

Rita
