A glowing lantern resting on a snow-covered path surrounded by bare winter trees, symbolizing hope and resilience in even the darkest moments.
A single lantern illuminates the snowy path, a reminder that even the smallest spark of hope can guide us through darkness.

Week of December 9th: Holding the Light in Darkness

Day 3 (Wednesday, December 11): The Smallest Spark

Words of Light:

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” – Zechariah 4:10

Reflection:

When we face seasons of loss or uncertainty, it’s easy to feel like nothing will ever be enough to heal the pain or make things right again. But sometimes, the tiniest spark is all we need to begin. A kind word, a warm memory, or even a moment of stillness can ignite hope in ways we don’t expect.

It’s not about finding the answers all at once or having everything figured out. It’s about letting the smallest light remind you that the darkness is never complete. One tiny spark can illuminate your next step, and as you take it, more light will follow.

Today, take a moment to notice the sparks of light in your life—a smile, a connection, or even the fact that you’ve made it this far. Those sparks are seeds of hope, quietly guiding you forward.

Peace, Rita

Journal Prompt:

   •     What sparks of light can you notice in your life today, and how can you nurture them?

Affirmation:

“Even the smallest spark can guide me forward and fill my heart with hope.”
