Words of Light

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.”
— Psalm 91:4 (NIV)

Reflection

When we think of strength, we often imagine something powerful and unyielding—mountains that do not move, oceans that cannot be contained, winds that command attention.

But God’s strength is not only mighty.

It is tender.

It is the kind of strength that does not overwhelm you, but draws you close. The kind that does not demand performance, but offers presence. The kind that does not crush under pressure, but gently carries what feels too heavy for you to hold.

God’s tenderness is not weakness.

It is a deliberate expression of love—one that meets you in your most vulnerable places and chooses to stay.

It looks like being held when you feel exposed.
Being covered when you feel uncertain.
Being comforted when you don’t have the words to explain what you’re carrying.

You are not only known by God—you are nurtured by Him.

There is a place for you beneath His care.

A place where you do not have to be strong.
A place where you do not have to prove anything.
A place where you can rest without fear of being overlooked or forgotten.

And in a world that often equates strength with hardness, God reminds you that true strength can be gentle.

It can be patient.
It can be quiet.
It can be deeply attentive.

When you feel small, when you feel exposed, when life feels uncertain—remember that you are not left uncovered.

You have a refuge.

You have a covering.

You are gathered close to the heart of the One who made you—not as someone distant or forgotten, but as someone deeply cared for and continually held.

Let yourself rest there.

Pause and Consider...

  • Where in your life do you feel most in need of comfort or covering right now?
  • What would it feel like to allow yourself to be cared for without resistance?
  • Where can you notice even a small sense of God’s presence surrounding you?

Affirmation

I am held in the tender strength of God’s love.
I am covered, cared for, and never alone.
