There is a quiet pressure that can rise within you
when you look around
and begin to measure your life against a timeline.
Where you thought you would be by now.
What you imagined would have already happened.
How quickly you believed things would unfold.
And when those expectations are unmet,
it can feel like something is wrong—
like you’ve missed a step,
or fallen behind.
But life does not move according to a rigid clock.
It unfolds in seasons—
each one carrying its own purpose,
its own pace,
its own becoming.
Words of Light
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
— Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)
Reflection
It’s easy to feel like you’re behind.
Behind the timeline you set.
Behind your dreams.
Behind where you thought you would be by now.
But the truth is—growth does not follow comparison. It follows alignment.
Nature offers this reminder again and again. Spring does not rush to bloom. It does not force what is not ready. It waits—quietly, patiently—for the thaw, for the warmth, for the exact conditions that allow growth to take root and remain.
And so it is with you.
If your healing has felt slow…
If your progress has felt invisible…
If your path has taken turns you did not expect…
Pause here.
Nothing about your timing is wrong.
What feels like a delay may actually be preparation. What feels like stillness may be restoration happening beneath the surface. Roots are forming. Strength is gathering. Something is being made ready within you that cannot be rushed.
This is not a season to measure your life by what has not happened yet.
This is a season to return—gently—to yourself.
Not with pressure.
But with presence.
Not with judgment.
But with compassion.
You are not behind.
You are becoming—
in the timing that is uniquely yours.
Pause and Consider...
- Where have I been measuring my life against an expectation that no longer serves me?
- What might be unfolding in me that I cannot yet fully see?
- How can I meet this season with more patience and compassion?
Affirmation
I am not behind.
I am growing in alignment with my own path.
What is meant for me is unfolding in its proper time.
Peace,
Rita
