Theme: Renewal Through Release — Growth from Grief

Tears often feel like loss,
like something breaking open inside us.

But in God’s hands,
tears don’t just fall to the ground—
they water it.

Every release, every ache, every moment you’ve cried in secret—
God has seen. And He has promised that nothing sown in sorrow is wasted.

Words of Light

“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”
Psalm 126:5–6 (NIV)

Reflection

Tears are not weakness. They are seeds.

When you cry, you are not falling apart—you are planting something sacred. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 126 that we do not sow in vain. Tears may blur your vision for a season, but they nourish the soil of your soul for the harvest to come.

Consider this:

  • Grief softens the ground of our hearts, making them more receptive to grace.
  • Release waters what striving never could.
  • Surrender opens us to joy on the other side of sorrow.

In God’s economy, what we release in tears He redeems in fruitfulness. The soil of your life is being renewed. The ground is breaking open, not to bury you, but to bring something new to life.

Let the tears fall. Let them water the future you cannot yet see. The harvest will come.

Pause and Consider

  • Where have my tears felt wasted—but might actually be watering new growth?
  • How does Psalm 126 shift my perspective on grief and release?
  • What would it look like to trust God with the harvest of my sorrow?

Affirmation

My tears are not wasted.
They water the soil of my soul.
God is faithful to bring joy from sorrow,
and new life from the seeds I release.

Peace,
Rita
