Sometimes light does not arrive all at once.
It flickers between hearts,
warming the space where we dare to be seen.

Words of Light

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” — Matthew 18:20

Reflection

There are seasons when the light we need does not come from within us, but from connection. Advent reminds us that waiting was never meant to be done alone. Even Mary did not walk this path in isolation. Joseph stood beside her. The shepherds went together. The Wise Men traveled in company. Light multiplied because it was shared.

We often imagine strength as something solitary — something we muster, manage, or muscle through. But Scripture consistently tells another story: God shows up in relationship. In gathering. In shared moments that seem small but carry weight. A conversation that steadies us. A quiet presence that reassures us. A moment when someone listens without trying to fix.

A shared spark does not erase the darkness, but it changes how we move through it. When one person’s light meets another’s, warmth grows. Hope becomes visible. And what felt heavy alone becomes bearable together.

Today’s invitation is not to perform connection, but to allow it. To notice where light already exists between you and another. To let yourself be seen — not fully explained, not perfectly presented — just present.

Some light is meant to be shared.
