Some light stays with us.
Not as a blaze, but as a warmth we learn to carry forward.
Words of Light
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14
Reflection
As Advent draws nearer to Christmas, the light around us becomes more visible—candles, decorations, familiar songs. Yet the most enduring light is not external. It is the light we carry within us, shaped by love, resilience, compassion, and faith.
The light of Christ does not arrive through spectacle. It enters quietly, through humility, presence, and care. And once received, it is not meant to be held tightly or hidden away. Light grows when it is shared—through words spoken with intention, through acts of kindness, through choosing compassion even when it costs us something.
Carrying the light forward does not mean having everything figured out. It does not require constant strength or certainty. It means choosing to reflect what has been given to you, even in imperfect ways. Every time you offer patience instead of frustration, presence instead of withdrawal, hope instead of despair—you carry the light forward.
This is especially meaningful as the season approaches its culmination. Many around you may be weary, grieving, or quietly struggling. Your presence—steady, kind, attentive—may be the very thing that reminds them light still exists.
Today invites you to pause and recognize the light you hold. Not as pressure, but as purpose. You are not responsible for illuminating everything—but what you carry matters. And what you share has the power to reach farther than you realize.
Journal Prompt

Affirmation
I carry light within me, and I choose to share it with openness and care.
Peace,
Rita
