A softly glowing lantern stands in the center of a snow-covered forest trail, casting warm light through the cold, quiet stillness of winter.
In the heart of winter, even the faintest light can guide us forward. This lantern reminds us that warmth and hope persist, even in the coldest seasons.

Week of December 9th: Holding the Light in Darkness

Day 1 (Monday, December 9): A Light in the Distance

Words of Light:

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5

Reflection:

When life feels heavy, it can seem like the darkness is endless. Loss, grief, and uncertainty weigh on us, especially during a season when the world around us feels so festive. But even in the darkest night, a light is always in the distance. It may be small, like the faint glow of a single candle, but it’s enough to guide you forward. The light is hope; even when you can’t see the path ahead clearly, that hope is the promise that you’re not alone.

Today, let that light remind you that every season of darkness passes. You don’t have to rush or force yourself to feel joyful. Hold onto the light and trust it will carry you forward, one step at a time.

Peace, Rita

Journal Prompt:

  • What is one small spark of light or hope you can hold onto today?

Affirmation:

“I trust that light will guide me even in darkness.”
