A woman with her eyes closed, gently unraveling shimmering golden fabric, symbolizing reflection, release, and self-discovery.
Sometimes, the unraveling is necessary—distractions fade, clarity emerges, and we find our way back to ourselves.

I’ve been away for a while, taking time to replenish and restore. Sometimes, we strategize and plan these moments of rest, and other times, life’s circumstances demand it. This period of absence has been one of those times—a space where distractions, disclaimers, and depositions have revealed themselves in ways I hadn’t fully acknowledged before.

Distractions: The Subtle Pull Away

Distractions aren’t always big and bold. Sometimes, they weave themselves into the fabric of our daily routines, disguised as obligations or habits we’ve convinced ourselves are necessary. We justify them and tell ourselves they ‘fit’ within our purpose. But in reality, they keep us anchored in place, preventing us from seeing the greater possibilities ahead.

Disclaimers: The Justifications We Tell Ourselves

Disclaimers are the excuses we craft—sometimes unconsciously—to validate our distractions. “I need to do this first,” “This is just how things are,” “I’ve always done it this way.” These thoughts become our personal rubrics, a set of self-imposed expectations that we rarely question. Yet, these disclaimers often serve as barriers to the very growth we seek.

Depositions: The Unraveling Truth

Then comes the deposition—the moment when we begin to dissect our distractions and disclaimers and see them for what they truly are. We examine why we held onto them, whether they served us, and if they still do. This is where we wrestle with ourselves, analyzing the choices we’ve made, the patterns we’ve followed, and the truths we’ve ignored. The deposition can be uncomfortable, but it is necessary for transformation.

Breaking the Cycle

The challenge is not just recognizing these elements but breaking free from them. Returning to distractions is tempting because they feel familiar, even safe. But staying in a loop of avoidance prevents us from stepping fully into the possibilities waiting ahead. So, I ask myself—and you—what distractions need to be acknowledged? What disclaimers have been running the narrative? And what truth is ready to be revealed?

It’s time to move forward with clarity. No more justifications, no more settling, just the courage to embrace what is truly meant for me.

Peace.
