Theme: Hope as a Practice — Rooted in Soft Strength

There are days when getting out of bed feels like a miracle.
When your body aches, your spirit sighs,
and your heart quietly whispers, “Not today.”

But then—
you breathe.
You put one foot forward.
You show up.

Not because it’s easy.
Not because you feel strong.
But because you’ve decided that even in your weariness,
you are still worthy of being here.

That, beloved, is holy.

Words of Light

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

Reflection

We often think strength looks like momentum, energy, or ease.
But sometimes, the strongest thing you can do is simply not disappear.

To be present when your heart is heavy.
To speak when your voice shakes.
To stay in the room—even if only in spirit—when you’d rather hide.

That is presence.
That is faith.
That is a kind of worship heaven deeply understands.

God is not waiting for the perfect version of you to show up.
He meets you right where you are—tired, unsure, even on the edge of giving up.
He doesn’t require polish. He honors presence.

So today, show up.
However you can.
With your questions, your silence, your hallelujah or your sigh.
It all counts.

Pause and Consider:

  • Where have I been showing up, even while weary?

  • What does it look like to honor my presence without needing to perform?

  • How can I give myself credit for choosing to be here, now?

Affirmation

Even weary, I show up.
That is enough today.
My presence is sacred and seen.

Peace,
Rita

A Black woman sits on a beige couch in a softly lit room, wearing a mauve robe, leaning forward with her head lowered and hands resting near her knees. A warm mug sits on a nearby table.
Even in weariness, she shows up—present, real, and held in grace.
